JOKES, NAPPIES AND WHEELCHAIRS ON BBC1

Laurence, his son Tom and David Tennant at the recording session Laurence has just finished filming a documentary for BBC 1 about himself and his family. The programme is called "Jokes, Nappies and Wheelchairs" and follows Laurence and his wife Adele through the ups an downs of having their second child, with plenty of stand-up comedy along the way. The programme is narrated by David Tennant and is due to be shown next March.

DEMOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER

Laurence has just won a commission from the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, Arts Council England, the UK Arts Councils and the British Council as part of the final round of Unlimited Commissions, a ground-breaking Cultural Olympiad programme that celebrates arts and culture by disabled and Deaf artists.

Whether it’s for getting married, going to work or becoming a father, Laurence
Clark is sick and tired of being told he’s inspirational. To him, he’s just getting on
with life. So in this new stand-up comedy show he questions why ordinary,
everyday activities are suddenly considered inspirational when it’s a disabled
person doing them.

If you’re the type of person who remains sceptical when told to climb every mountain, reach for the skies and follow your dreams then this is the show for you!

The show can be seen next summer at the Edinburgh Fringe, DaDaFest in Liverpool and the Bloomsbury Theatre in London. For more details see the entry on the London 2012 Festival website.
