Jim Fixed It for Me
In 1990, my mate asked Jim for a fiver. Jim failed to deliver. That same year, Jim deprived Laurence too, and he's still getting over it in this gloriously bittersweet show. Clark's a massive personality in the disabled community, and his 'sit-down comedy' antics attract wheelchairs from far and wide. He shifts fantastically, from 'Jim'll Fix It' to pilgrimages to Lourdes, and from there to side-splittingly disastrous disabled dating ads. His dry, cutting wit and astute social observations are hilariously accurate, and he refuses to be patronised by anyone, especially Jim, to whom he delivers a stylish comeuppance. Clark combines his delightful onstage presence with a refreshingly original PowerPoint presentation. A hugely enjoyable experience- I left wearing a mile-wide smile.
